Husain Abdulah as Head of Hayahaya Village, West Limboto District, in his speech expressed great hope that the existence of this Geopark could have a positive impact on the agricultural sector, because of the potential of banana plants in the village.
This activity was opened by the Head of the Research and Innovation Division of the Gorontalo Province Bappeda in her speech, Tity Iriani said that Geopark is a concept for developing areas that have geological heritage, biodiversity and cultural diversity, which through its development is expected to encourage active involvement of all parties, including the community or MSMEs can grow public understanding and awareness to preserve the earth and also create geoproducts to improve welfare.
These geoproducts vary, for example geofood made from fish such as roa or sagela chili sauce, nike fish, tuna chili sauce, tuna pickles, tuna meatballs, payangga fish. Then there are banana chips of various flavors, then culinary delights: milu siram, ilabulo, corn pia, kerawang cakes, and other snacks which are local Gorontalo products. Apart from geofood, Gorontalo also has geo fashion potential, namely karawo cloth and Geo crafts, namely handicrafts such as key chains, said Ivana as a researcher from the Gorontalo Province Bappeda.
Meanwhile, Selvy as head of the Gorontalo State University expert team in this research explained that in this research the potential of MSMEs, namely the culinary, handicraft, beauty and agro-industry sectors, has been mapped. "Cultural attraction, product quality and the right marketing strategy are the keys to success in introducing and marketing MSME products related to the Gorontalo Geopark to a wider market," emphasized Selvy.
This activity was attended by elements of the Department of Cooperatives, MSMEs, Industry and Trade of Gorontalo Province and Regency/City, elements of Bappeda Regency City, Secretaries and Heads of Divisions within Bappeda of Gorontalo Province, the Research and Development Commission Team, Head of West Limboto District, Functional Planners and Gorontalo Province Bappeda researchers as well as MSMEs/business actors, Green Tuna Women Farmers and Entrepreneurial women are always successful.
