Reksonegoro village was founded in 1925 by a group of Javanese people from Tondano, North Sulawesi. At the time, the Dutch East Indies government was conducting a transmigration program to move the Javanese population out of Java. The group of Javanese who were transmigrated to Reksonegoro Village were farmers who were expected to help increase agricultural production in the area.
