Geo-conservation is actions intended to conserve and extend the benefits of geological and geomorphological features, processes, sites, and landforms. Geo-conservation is public awareness of the importance of protecting geological heritage.

Geo-conservation carried out by the community or geo-conservation collaboration between the community, academics and local governments has implications for the preservation of geological heritage in a geopark.
