Geoparks are built through a bottom-up process involving all relevant stakeholders and authorities in the area, such as land owners, community groups, tourism providers, indigenous peoples, and local organizations.

The bottom-up process requires a firm commitment from local communities, strong partnerships with public support, and the development of a comprehensive strategy that will meet all of the community's goals while respecting and protecting the geological heritage.
