The stratigraphy of the Gorontalo Geopark ranges from ancient rocks to the youngest sediments. The oldest rock units include the Gabbro (Teog). Formed during the Eocene to Oligocene epochs, as well as the Tinombo Formation (comprising both sedimentary and volcanic facies), which dates to the same period. Overlying these are intrusive formations such as the Bone Diorite (Early Miocene) and Bolihutuo Diorite (Middle Miocene), along with volcanic rocks such as the Bilungala Volcanics (Middle Miocene) and Wobudu Breccia (Early Pliocene).
